The safety of all students who ride on our school buses is a matter of concern to the staff at H.E.S..  Proper, acceptable behaviour on our school buses is essential.  Everyone's  safety is compromised if the bus driver is distracted by poor behaviour of students who are traveling on the bus.

Class I Offenses
Consequences
Spitting
Excessive Noise
Horseplay
Riding unassigned bus without permission or using unassigned bus stops
Leaving seat/standing while the bus is in motion
Riding or attempting to ride any bus after receiving a suspension
Other offenses as reported by the bus driver
First Offense: Written warning from principal
Second Offense: Written warning or 1-2 day suspension
Third Offense: 5 day suspension or possible extended loss of bus privileges
Class II Offenses
Consequences
Any unsafe behaviour inhibiting the safe operations of the bus
Profanity, verbal abuse, harassment, obsene gestures or possession of unacceptable material
Throwing/shooting of any object in or out of the bus
Physical aggression against any person
Use of tobacco or any controlled substance
Vandalism to bus (restitution will be sought)
Holding onto/or attempting to hold onto any portion of the exterior of the bus
Lighting of matches, fireworks or any flammable object or substance
Unauthorized entering or leaving bus through emergency door/tampering with bus equipment
Other offenses as reported by driver
First Offense: 3-5 day suspension
Second Offense: 5-10 day suspension
Third Offense: Extended loss of bus privileges
